Starting as a police reporter at her local newspaper at the age of 16, Maria Lewis has been a journalist for over a decade. Focussing on entertainment, pop culture commentary and feminism, her work has appeared in the New York Post, The Daily Mail, Junkee, Huffington Post, Penthouse, The Daily and Sunday Telegraph, Yahoo7, News.com.au, Spook Magazine, The Fanciful Fiction Auxiliary and Bloody Disgusting. Having many opinions on many things, Maria has featured as a guest on The Feed on SBS 2, Mornings on Channel 9, 702 ABC Sydney’s Drive segment Critics and as the ‘Head Geek’ on 2SER 107.3FM’s weekly Gaggle Of Geeks program.

She’s the producer and co-host of the Eff Yeah Film & Feminism podcast and appears on Pod Save Our Screen for Graffiti With Punctuation. She’s the writer and producer on Miller’s Justice League Mortal documentary about the ill-fated superhero epic. Her debut novel Who’s Afraid? is set to be released in Australia on January 12, 2016 through Hachette and worldwide through Little Brown Books and Piatkus Fiction on July 14, 2016. It’s the first in the Tommi Grayson urban fantasy series, with Maria scheduled to appear at the Supanova Pop Culture Expos as a guest throughout 2016. Her short story The Bluff – about an all-girl surfer gang – is being published on December 26, 2015 by Harper Collins.
